Fin dalla fine del Settecento, in Val di Fiemme, l’ingente patrimonio boschivo era stato censito per poi essere sfruttato. In tale contesto le “piciolère” ricoprivano un ruolo fondamentale nella selvicoltura, poichè ne curavano ogni aspetto, dalla piantumazione alla salvaguardia del bosco.

Ever since the end of the 18th century, in the Val di Fiemme, the huge woodland heritage had been surveyed and then exploited. In this context, the ‘piciolère’ played a fundamental role in silviculture, as they took care of every aspect, from planting to safeguarding the forest.
