panni. Entrambi lavori femminili, anche nei giorni di festa, quando gli uomini giravano per le piazze con i
vestiti eleganti.

Laundresses at the Public Fountain
Public fountains were essential in the villages: they were used for collecting drinking water and washing
clothes. Both were women's tasks, even on holidays when men strolled through the squares in their
elegant clothes.
